Working at DCA was a challenging and exciting experience.

The emphasis on meticulous research and international standards of work motivated me to be the best I could be.

During my tenure, I was able to pick up handy skills such as content scheduling, archiving and reporting.

The notion that women cannot make it the technology industry is embraced by many.  What girls and women need is a mentor to keep reminding them that the future is theirs for the taking. And this is the exact pace that the founder of the Miss.Africa digital has set.

Miss.Africa Digital does not only motivate women in STEM , the program as well equips them with knowledge, skill and grants to do it through the DCA Digital Academy and the Miss.Africa Seed Fund, an annual seed fund run by the DCA Group.

This experience enabled me to appreciate the efforts being made by women and their presence in the technology industry.

The involvement of women in technology in Africa and even in the world is key for future prosperity. Women make up half of Africa’s population. We bring skills and perceptions to challenges that are unparalleled. The number of programs, grants and funds targeted at Women in Tech is increasing gradually every day.

Now, young girls know that ICT careers aren’t beyond their touch. To girls who would want to venture into ICT Careers, I’d like to tell them to believe in themselves and to believe in their ideas. Their ideas might change the world we live in through technological solutions.

Miss.Africa Voices is a regular online journal that presents women in tech experiences, opinions and observations. These stories come from DotConnectAfrica Internship Alumni and other Women who are leading the tech-preneurship fronts in their own ecosystems. The Miss.Africa Voices also serves to encourage more girls & women to get involved in STEM careers through our Miss.Africa Digital Program.
